Isolated and Loving It

Although it is not connected by a highway, Rencontre East does have access to state of the art medical facilities. We have a clinic which is staffed every Wednesday.

Several facilities are within 3½ hours (including ferry rides). If someone wishes to visit the Mose Ambrose Clinic, or the Connaigre Health Care Facility at Harbour Breton, they would take a one hour and fifteen minute ferry ride to Pool's Cove, then travel twenty, and forty-five minutes respectively by highway. If necessary, they could travel two hours to Grand Falls (from Pool's Cove) to the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre.

If someone wishes to travel to Bay L'Argent in the event of an emergency, they would be transported via Bay L'Argent Ambulance Service to the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre at Burin.
